A combination of my German love of mustard and Carolina BBQ. Sunflower is a little sweet, a little tart, a little heat and a lot of flavor. Its amazing on pork and poultry and makes a great dip for pretzels and chips. The color reminded me of Kansas wheat fields and Sunflowers so I had to name it after my Kansas home the Sunflower state.
This idea was all Summer and Hayden. If you like honey this is your BBQ sauce. Our base sauce makes this perfectly tangy with just the right amount of sweet. Kind of like Summer and Hayden.
This is our base sauce. Growing up in Kansas there were two BBQ Sauces I loved. This is my combination of them. With a twang from the vinegar and bold taste of our spices its bold flavor packs just enough kick to wake your taste buds up.
